Guaranteed Standard Issue (GSI) Offers
If you have a pre-existing condition that would otherwise prevent you from qualifying for disability coverage, you may be eligible for a special Guarantee Standard Issue (GSI) program. Under a GSI program, residents and fellows may obtain disability coverage regardless of their current or prior medical history. If you fall into this category, please contact us to review your options. You are only eligible for this program while you are resident or fellow at a participating hospital.
Note: Any resident or fellow previously turned down or provided with a modified offer by other disability insurance carriers (not including Guardian/Berkshire Life) is not eligible for this offer. Therefore, you are encouraged to look into this offer as your first choice and as soon as possible.
